Concessionary Seat Expression of Interest Sept 2020

Due to the Coronavirus emergency, applications for Concessionary Seats on home to school transport in 2020/21 have not yet been available. However, we would now like to give you the opportunity to apply for a Concessionary Seat, without yet finalising all the details, so you can be considered for a Seat in the first round of allocations.

Where pupils do not qualify for free transport from Durham County Council, the School has entered into an arrangement with DCC to make Concessionary Seats available. You can apply for a Seat on a school bus at

It has not yet been possible to set the fares for the scheme in September 2020. Once you apply for a Seat, DCC will write to you in the summer holidays with full details of costs, and you may choose if you wish to continue with your application at this point.

Pupils who had a Concessionary Seat in 2019/20 do not need to re-apply unless your circumstances have changed: your application will be rolled forward into 2020/21 automatically (unless you chose to opt out of this). Again, DCC will write to these pupils with information on fares when they are known.

You may be concerned about safety on school transport following the coronavirus outbreak.

You can read DCC’s statement on this at Home to school transport.
