Consett Academy Sixth Form Update from Laura Jobling, Head of Sixth Form
 

Please note, students who have been offered a place at Consett Academy Sixth Form do not need to worry. Their place is safe and we are still very much looking forward to welcoming you in the new academic year, providing the enrolment criteria is met. We have contacted all of our students who have already applied to reassure them.

We will keep applicants up to date with when they can complete their enrolment and when their course will begin.

Please note that students can still apply to study at Sixth Form.

Newcastle College Update from Chris Byrne, Schools Liaison & Transition Coordinator

“I want to confirm that students who have been offered a place at Newcastle College do not need to worry. Their place is safe and we are still very much looking forward to welcoming them onto campus in the new academic year. We’re contacting all of our students who have already applied for a place to reassure them. Although things are difficult to plan for right now, we will keep our applicants up to date every step of the way, including letting them know when they can complete their enrolment and when their course will begin.

Please also let your students know that they can still prepare for their next step and if they haven’t already made an application for college, they still can! They can do this on our website at www.newcastlecollege.co.uk where they can also find out about the courses on offer, the financial support which might be available to them and more about life as a student with us.

Apprenticeships

The apprenticeship team are keen to get as many students prepared now so they are completing assessments and first stage interviews remotely to get the students all prepared so when vacancies do come up they can get them selected for interview.  The advice is any students looking for an apprenticeship please ask them to complete the form below know and the team will contact them direct for the support they need.

Can we please ask that all Year 11 students continue to check the VLE for tasks to prepare you for your future such as CV letter writing tasks.

If you’re at a loose end while working from home, why not try one of the Open University free courses (https://www.open.edu/openlearn/free-courses/full-catalogue). Course start from just a few hours and provide learners with a certificate of achievement, something that can help in the search for jobs, apprenticeships and higher education from September.
