Study Tour - University of Western Australia and Durham University

As part of a co-sponsored project involving the University of Western Australia and Durham University the Academy Trust welcomed seventeen current and aspiring leaders in primary and secondary schools from Australia to the Academy on Thursday 5th October.

The visit to the Academy was part of a wider study tour which saw our visitors predominantly based in Cambridge and spending significant time at Cambridge University before visiting ourselves and other schools in the region. The purpose of the visit was to discover how leaders within the Trust had adapted to significant changes in government legislation, inspection regimes and in particular find out about our approaches in key teaching & learning areas.

The day saw us welcome two separate groups and both went away armed with large amounts of data to assist in further studies and practice back at schools in Australia for which they were very grateful.

The groups were clearly impressed with the Trust approach, facilities and students with the only regret being they did not have any additional time to spend at the Academy.

We wish our visitors well in both their future studies and careers.
