World War 1 Research Grant Success

The Academy will be working with Collège Jean Moulin in Moreuil, France to research the impact of the First World War on soldiers from the Stanley area who fought at the Battle of the Somme in 1916. Students from both schools will be researching the lives of soldiers from the Stanley area and working together to present the stories of these local men. There will also be two exchange visits over the next 18 months to help students from each school better understand where the Stanley soldiers grew up and went on to serve in battle.
